Smells incredible. The quality is exactly what they say it is.
Frankincense has been burned in places of stillness for five thousand years. It deserves to be in your diffuser on a Tuesday morning because it's raining, not saved for the days that feel worthy of it.
The reason most people ration it is the price. Some essential oil brands charge over $100 for 15ml. A few charge close to $170. That's not the cost of the oil — it's the cost of the business model behind it.
At our price you use five drops because that's what you want. You add it to every blend without counting. You make the roller and keep it in your bag. You put it in the diffuser on a Tuesday morning because it's raining and you felt like it.
That's the difference. Not the oil. What the price lets you do with it.
100% pure Frankincense oil. Nothing added, nothing diluted. We've been selling pure essential oils since 1895. If it's not the best Frankincense you've smelled, we'll refund you in full. No return, no questions, no expiry on that promise.

In a diffuser
Add 3–4 drops to your diffuser with water. Run for 30–60 minutes at a time — intermittent diffusing is more effective than continuous. A well-ventilated room gives you the scent without the saturation.
As a roller blend
Add the recommended drops to a 10ml roller bottle and top with a carrier oil — jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut all work. Apply to wrists, temples, the back of the neck, or the sternum. Never apply undiluted essential oil directly to skin.
In a spray
Add the recommended drops to 250ml of water with 1 teaspoon of methylated spirits as an emulsifier. Shake before each use. Spray on surfaces, fabrics, or into the air. Not for use on skin unless the dilution is appropriate for the specific oil.
For topical use
Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin. Do a patch test on your inner arm and wait 24 hours before wider use, especially if you have sensitive skin. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Storage
Keep in a cool, dark place — a cupboard or drawer is ideal. Keep the lid sealed between uses. Essential oils degrade with heat, light, and air exposure.
Frankincense — dilution and caution
Use 3–4 drops in a 100ml diffuser — it's a base note and carries long after lighter oils have gone. For facial skin use, dilute to 1–2% in carrier oil. For body use, 2–3%. One of the gentlest base note oils for skin.

Blend 1: Frankincense + Lavender + Orange — "The Meditation"
You've downloaded four apps. You've read the books. You know it helps. You just can't make yourself sit down for it. Frankincense has been burned in places of deliberate stillness for three thousand years — not symbolically, because the compound incensole acetate has a measurable effect on anxiety pathways. The oil does some of the work before you've done anything at all. Lavender deepens the quiet. Orange stops it from feeling solemn. 3 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Lavender, 2 drops Orange. The app requires you to start. The diffuser starts without you.
Blend 2: Frankincense + Geranium + Lemon — "The Getting-Ready Diffuser"
You've built a skincare routine. You've committed to it. You apply it in whatever the bathroom happens to smell like on any given morning. Frankincense is in more premium anti-ageing skincare than any other single essential oil — not for marketing, because of what it does to skin cell turnover. Geranium regulates. Lemon brightens the air. 2 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Geranium, 3 drops Lemon. The serum works on your skin. This works on the woman applying it.
Blend 3: Frankincense + Cedarwood + Patchouli — "The Quiet Room"
No citrus. No sharpness. Nothing that tells your brain it should be doing something. Frankincense clears the internal noise. Cedarwood plants you in the room. Patchouli earths the whole thing — one drop, that's all it needs. 3 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Cedarwood, 1 drop Patchouli. You've been trying to treat the anxiety in your head. The body responds to smell before thought gets a vote.
Blend 4: Frankincense + Bergamot + Ylang Ylang — "The Hard Week"
Not a wellness blend. Not for the good days. Frankincense has been used in mourning across cultures for millennia — not because of tradition, because of what it does to the breath. It slows it. Bergamot is the oil with the strongest evidence base for mood elevation in clinical aromatherapy. Ylang Ylang is the tenderness underneath. 3 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Bergamot, 1 drop Ylang Ylang. Most products sell the good days. The one that shows up for the hard ones earns a different kind of loyalty.
Blend 5: Frankincense + Rosemary + Peppermint — "Before the Hard Conversation"
Rosemary and Peppermint are the two most-studied oils for cognition. Frankincense is what quiets the room before they do their work — it settles the background noise that makes clarity impossible. Run it before you write something difficult, decide something difficult, or say something difficult. 3 drops Frankincense, 3 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Peppermint. Focus advice comes from productivity culture. This comes from three thousand years of people who needed to think clearly in difficult rooms.

How many drops do I use in a diffuser?
3–4 drops in a 100ml diffuser. Frankincense is a base note — it evaporates slowly and lingers long after lighter oils have dispersed. You need less of it than citrus oils to fill a room. In a blend, 2 drops of Frankincense is often enough to anchor the whole composition.
Can I use it directly on my skin?
Yes, diluted. Frankincense is one of the gentler base note oils and is used extensively in skincare. For facial use, dilute to 1–2% in a carrier oil (6 drops per 30ml of jojoba or rosehip). For body use, 2–3% is standard. It's suitable for all skin types, particularly dry and mature skin.
Is it safe to use during pregnancy?
Frankincense appears on the generally-considered-safe list from the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists for pregnancy use when diluted and used in moderation. Avoid internal use entirely. For diffusing, ventilate the room and use intermittently. Always check with your midwife or healthcare provider — particularly in the first trimester.
Is it safe around children?
Frankincense is one of the gentler oils for use around children and is widely diffused in family homes. For children under 2, use very low concentrations with good ventilation. Never apply undiluted to a child's skin. For older children, standard adult precautions apply — dilute for topical use, diffuse in a ventilated room.
Why does it smell slightly different from other brands I've tried?
Frankincense comes from several different Boswellia species — Boswellia carterii, Boswellia serrata, and Boswellia sacra are the most common, and each produces a noticeably different scent. Carterii is the most widely used and has the classic church-incense character. Serrata tends to be more resinous and earthy. If you've switched species without realising, that explains the difference. It doesn't mean either is inferior — they have overlapping but distinct aromatic profiles.

Frankincense oil is steam distilled from the resin of the Boswellia tree — a small, hardy tree that grows in the dry mountainous regions of Somalia, Ethiopia, Oman, and India. The resin is harvested by making incisions in the bark and collecting the hardened "tears" that bleed out. It has been traded, burned, and used medicinally for over five thousand years. It was genuinely more valuable than gold in parts of the ancient world.
The oil's primary compounds — alpha-pinene, limonene, and incensole acetate — give it a complex, resinous, slightly citrusy scent that is immediately recognisable and almost impossible to describe to someone who hasn't smelled it. Incensole acetate is the compound with the most interesting research profile — it has demonstrated anxiolytic and antidepressant effects in studies, which provides at least a partial scientific basis for why Frankincense has been burned in places of ritual and reflection for millennia.
Different Boswellia species produce noticeably different oils. Boswellia carterii is the most widely used and has the classic, complex church-incense character. Boswellia serrata is more resinous and earthy. Both are legitimate — they have different scent profiles, not different quality levels.
Our Frankincense oil is 100% pure steam-distilled Boswellia resin. No carrier, no dilution, no synthetic fragrance.
