Peppermint is the oil that should be in your diffuser every morning, your headache roller every bag, your chest rub every winter, and your bathroom spray every week. It does more jobs than any other oil in this range. Most people own one small bottle and use it for one thing because at premium prices that's all they can afford to do with it.

Some essential oil brands charge over $65 for 15ml of Peppermint. At that price you pick one use and stick to it. You don't make the morning diffuser blend and the headache roller and the bathroom spray. You choose.

At our price you don't choose. You make all of it. The morning blend and the roller and the spray and the chest rub for winter. You use it for everything it's capable of because the price lets you treat it like the household staple it actually is.

That's the shift. Not the oil. What the price lets you do with it.

100% pure Peppermint oil. Nothing added, nothing diluted. We've been selling pure essential oils since 1895. If it's not the best Peppermint you've smelled, we'll refund you in full. No return, no questions, no expiry on that promise.
In a diffuser
Add 2–3 drops maximum to your diffuser with water. Run for 30–60 minutes at a time. Peppermint is one of the most potent top notes in this range — at 5 or more drops it stops being invigorating and starts being overwhelming.

As a roller blend
Add the recommended drops to a 10ml roller bottle and top with a carrier oil. Apply to wrists, temples, the back of the neck, or the sternum. Never apply undiluted essential oil directly to skin.

In a spray
Add the recommended drops to 250ml of water with 1 teaspoon of methylated spirits as an emulsifier. Shake before each use. Spray on surfaces, fabrics, or into the air.

For topical use
Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin. Do a patch test on your inner arm and wait 24 hours before wider use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If burning sensation occurs from undiluted use, apply carrier oil generously — do not use water.

Storage
Keep in a cool, dark place — a cupboard or drawer is ideal. Keep the lid sealed between uses. Essential oils degrade with heat, light, and air exposure.

Peppermint — dilution and caution
Use 2–3 drops maximum in a 100ml diffuser. For skin use, dilute to 2–3% in carrier oil — never apply neat. Do not diffuse around children under 3 or apply near the face of any child under 6.
How many drops do I use in a diffuser?
2–3 drops maximum in a 100ml diffuser. Peppermint is one of the most potent top notes in this range — less is genuinely more. In a headache roller the concentration is already set — follow the blend ratios on this page exactly.

Is it safe around babies and young children?
No — not around infants or toddlers, and with caution around children under 6. Peppermint contains menthol, which can slow or interfere with breathing in very young children. Do not apply to the face, chest, or near the nose of any child under 6.

Can I use it on my temples for a headache?
Yes — and it's one of the most evidence-backed applications for any essential oil. A 1996 randomised trial found peppermint oil applied to the temples was equivalent to 1000mg of acetaminophen for tension headache at two hours. Dilute in carrier oil before application and avoid the eye area.

Is it safe during pregnancy?
Peppermint is recommended with caution during pregnancy — avoid in the first trimester and use conservatively thereafter. The menthol in Peppermint can affect milk supply in breastfeeding mothers and is generally recommended to avoid while nursing.

I used it and felt a burning sensation on my skin — what happened?
Peppermint applied undiluted creates a strong cooling-then-burning sensation on skin. Always dilute in carrier oil before skin application. If you applied it neat and the sensation is severe, apply carrier oil generously to the area — do not use water, which spreads the oil rather than removing it.
Peppermint oil (Mentha x piperita) is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the peppermint plant — a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint that doesn't occur in the wild and is propagated entirely by human cultivation.

Its defining compound is menthol, making up 35–55% of the oil, with menthone, menthyl acetate, and 1,8-cineole as the other significant constituents. Menthol is what activates cold receptors in the skin and mucous membranes — the reason Peppermint feels cooling without actually lowering temperature.

The clinical evidence for Peppermint is among the strongest in essential oil research. The 1996 tension headache study comparing peppermint oil application to 1000mg acetaminophen is legitimate and has been replicated. The respiratory evidence is consistent across multiple studies. It is one of the few essential oils where the mechanism of action is understood at the receptor level, not just observed in outcomes.

Our Peppermint oil is 100% pure steam-distilled Mentha x piperita leaf and flowering top oil. No carrier, no dilution, no synthetic fragrance.
